Laoshe Teahouse welcomed some special guests on September 13th. These 12 people were invited by the handicapped league of Xuanwu District of Beijing, to celebrate the Chinese traditional mid-autumn festival.
For these disabled, this year's Mid-autumn day has become a unique Festival, joined with the celebration of the 13th Paralympics held in Beijing. A cup of tea, some Beijing flavored nibbles, together with the cultural performances presented by Laoshe Teahouse, make a strong festival atmosphere.
Laoshe Teahouse is named after a famous Beijing modern writer – Lao She. The
three-act play Tea House written by Lao She, dramatically describes the moving of Chinese Society in 50 years around the beginning of 20th century, through the rise and fall of a common Tea House.
Laoshe Teahouse also inherits this miracle. The fading Chinese traditional opera and folk art, which used to flourish for hundreds years, has come back on a small stage.
After the performances, the guests were attracted by traditional crafts. 300 years-old skills of producing art by heated tools, and fast portraiture that caputres the feature of the subject vividly, all generated a fresh and memorable experience.
Finally, the guests received the traditional Mid-autumn presents from the Tea House, some moon cakes and Rabbit Characters.
The warm service from Laoshe Teahouse has given the disabled guests a deep impression, they especially talked about the building of obstacle-free facilities in Laoshe Teahouse.。
